U-18 Edenvale baseballers and coach make community proud
The SA Baseball u-18 team is currently competing in the WBSC World Cup games.
U-18 Edenvale baseballers and coach continue to make the community proud as they joined the SA Baseball team in Korea for the 2019 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Baseball World Cup.

Head coach Dean McKinon, Regan Panzenberger, Jaryd White and Joshua Mitchell from the local Giants Imps Baseball Club took off to Korea with neighbouring local player Boy Matthews from Alexandra Baseball Club, on August 26.
The players received their caps recently before they went to Korea.
They wore their green and gold kit with pride when they were given a warm send off from family and friends and teammates.
The SA Baseball u-18 team is currently competing in the WBSC World Cup games.
Committee member of the Giants and Imps Lana Bell said the SA representatives know the entire club is very proud of them.
“We wish them and the entire squad the very best in the World Cup Games.”
She said they will not be alone.
“They will have all of us with them in that ballpark.”
WBSC secretary general Beng Choo Low and WBSC executive director Michael Schmidt unveiled the official trophy of the u-18 Baseball World Cup at a press conference on August 29.
“This u-18 Baseball World Cup will provide a preview of the future of our sport, and some of the players here will become baseball’s next stars,” said Schmidt.
“This flagship youth world championship will also be a preview of some of the biggest international baseball events in history: the WBSC Premier12 this November and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.”
