Quondam Retirement Village keeps giving alive with winter donations
Quondam residents continue their annual tradition of donating groceries and blankets to vulnerable Wychwood pensioners.
The spirit of giving is alive and well at Quondam Retirement Village, where residents have once again opened their hearts and cupboards for a cause close to home.
For the ninth consecutive year, the village has supported an outreach project aimed at assisting residents in Wychwood who rely on SASSA grants and face financial hardship.
This winter, the Quondam community rallied together, collecting non-perishable groceries, warm blankets, scarves and hats over several weeks. The response was nothing short of overwhelming.

Beneficiaries from Wychwood, many of them pensioners, expressed deep gratitude for the continued support.
“Quondam has been a great blessing to us for more than nine years, if not longer,” said one recipient.
“We’re all trying to make ends meet, but the cost of gas and electricity leaves very little for essentials. These donations bring real relief and hope.”
The outreach project stands as a reminder that even small acts of generosity can have a profound ripple effect.
As one Quondam resident put it, “We may be retired, but we still have so much to give.”
The retirement village extended its thanks to all residents who contributed to the initiative.
“Thank you for making a difference. Your kindness warms more than just bodies. It lifts spirits too.”
