Princess Charlene’s father will treat the royal twins like the rest of his grandchildren

Mike Wittstock shared his excitement with the Benoni City Times over Monaco's royal twins and his experience with the royal family over the past three years.

We spoke to the proud grandfather on Monday, December 15, about the twins and how his life has changed since his daughter became Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco.

He said “The experience has been hectic for my whole family, it has been exciting keeping up with all the royal events, this has been a big experience, my boy!

“Our daughter is far away, but we try to keep in touch and visit Monaco as often as we can and she has done us proud.”

“Albert called me an hour after the birth of the children on Wednesday (December 10).

“He was very excited when he called to tell me that they have been blessed with two beautiful children, a boy and a girl.

“My wife, Lynette, and I were planning on flying over later this month for their birth, but the twins decided to come early.”

Princess Charlene’s mother is thrilled about the newborn babies and she will soon be visiting them, but first the two grandparents are still figuring out what gifts to get the royal twins.

Wittstock added that he will treat all of his four grandchildren in the same light, the one in Benoni, from his youngest son, Sean, the royal twins and Gareth’s daughter, who lives with his father in Monaco.

“We have not spoken to Charlene that much since the birth of the twins, but Prince Albert has informed us that she is doing very well and the babies are also well and healthy.”

The palace has informed the public that the twins will be introduced to the world on January 7, next year, a day which will also be declared a public holiday.

Lynette will fly to Monaco next week to be with Charlene and the babies.
