The Benoni City Times Mother’s Day Cake Bake competition was held on Thursday, May 7. People could enter four categories; namely: Professional, Bakers for Fun, Tarts and Cupcakes. Bianca Greyling won the Bakers for Fun category, with a leopard print cake with chocolate ganache.Bianca Greyling won the cupcakes category, with her chocolate and vanilla specimens.Bianca Greyling won the tarts category. Greyling baked a triple chocolate pumpkin tart.Haylee Dennis finished second in the cupcakes category. She baked assorted cupcakes with a carnival theme.Leoni Storm came second in the Bakers for Fun category, with her carrot and banana cake.Percy Nomlala, a Wattville resident, won the professional category. He impressed the judges with his beetroot cake.Michelle King finished in second place in the professional category. She baked a lemon cake with lemon curd filling.
