Join the Pony-thon for cancer

Oggi and Domani Hair Studio, in Farrarmere, decided collectively to be proactive and to collect as many ponytails as they can, and to donate the hair to Mike and Liz Hairpieces, in Linden, Johannesburg, to assist people who are fighting cancer with wigs.

The team of nine women at the salon have been snipping off ponytails since January, while assuring their clients that they are doing it for a great cause.

“Our clients have embraced our drive, some with tears and some with willing smiles; we have had hair donations from all ages and we are so proud of our clients who have bravely cut their locks off,” said Jordana Baker, manager of the salon.

They will donate the hair, that has gradually amounted to 33 ponies so far, at the end of month.

“We, at Oggi and Domani Hair Studio, would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone who has done this with us, and the clients who have pledged they will grow their hair for our next point drive,” said Baker.

There is still time for people to pop into the salon and assist with their donation of hair.

A minimum of 12cm can be donated.

Contact the salon on 011 425-0118 or 011 849-4037, or call in at 37 Main Road, Farramere.
