Woodworking to perfection

Benonians feasted their eyes on a woodwork wonderland on Saturday, September 21, when the East Rand Woodworker's Association (ERWA) hosted its 10th annual woodworking fair.

Founder member of ERWA, Georg Stroebel, said the event boasted a wide variety of different woodcrafts, and his statement did not fail to deliver.

From elegant furniture pieces to model cars and ships, to guitars, pens and clocks, members of the association exhibited an array of beautiful wooden crafts.

The ERWA has meetings every third Wednesday of the month and Stroebel encourages locals, even those with no experience, but with an interest in woodwork, to join the association.

“We are especially appealing for more young people to join,” he added.
