Man hit by car in CBD

ER24 paramedics responded to the accident on Prince’s Avenue, in the afternoon.

‘‘On arrival paramedics found a man, in his 40s, lying face down in the road,’’ said ER24 JHB East spokesperson Glen Orritt.

‘‘We were advised by bystanders that he had been struck by a bakkie while crossing the road.

‘‘Paramedics immediately assessed the man and found that he had suffered a suspected head injury, along with multiple abrasions across his body.’’

The victim was transported to the Tambo Memorial Hospital for further care.

The occupants of the bakkie were uninjured and the accident is being investigated.
