Laerskool Northmead burgled

A total of 43 computers, with an estimated value of R600 000, were stolen from Laerskool Northmead on Wednesday, October 30.

School principal Johan Pieters said the computers were stolen out of the school’s computer room, and several offices in the administration building were vandalised in the incident.

Pieters said the perpetrators entered the school through the front gate, after having cut the locks.

They then gained access to the school’s computer room through the roof.

Pieters said three men, wearing balaclavas, were spotted walking along the school corridors at close to 11pm.

This camera footage will be handed over to the police.

Benoni SAPS acting police station commander Col Thomas Maupa said no arrests had been made at the time of going to press.

A case of business burglary has been opened.
