Benoni model to compete in China
While most 17-year-olds are trying to figure out trigonometry equations, Benoni-born beauty Bianca Rentzke (17) is about to represent South Africa in China, after winning the South African leg of the Elite Model Search, an international modelling contest.
“Winning the South African leg of the race is overwhelming, but very exciting, because not only does this mean that I will gain international exposure, but I have an opportunity to represent my amazing country,” she said.
According to Bianca’s mother, Cindy Hopping-Mills, this was her first attempt at modelling.
“She saw the competition on Facebook and asked me if she could enter, so I took her to Melrose Arch and the rest is, as they say, history,” added Hopping-Mills.

“I entered the competition because I’ve always wanted to model and I thought that this was an amazing opportunity and also to get a feel for the industry,” said Bianca.
The most challenging thing for her throughout the competition was not knowing anybody and being out of her comfort zone.
“Also, missing school and not being with my friends was tough,” she added
Bianca is more excited than nervous about competing in China.
She stands a chance to win a contract with the Elite Modelling Agency, in Paris, if she is the overall.
The dark haired beauty is currently in Grade 11 at St Dunstan’s College.
Bianca describes herself as “a nerd, creative and loving”.
Her hobbies range from reading and chilling with friends to spending time with her animals.
Apart from modelling, she would like to study towards a qualification in fine arts, film or photography.
“In the next five years I see myself travelling the world and growing as a person,” she said.
“One of my other dreams is to one day grace the cover of Vogue Magazine and to walk in the top fashion weeks in the world.
“I would like to thank my family and friends for supporting and encouraging me to chase my dream.”
