Majority of Benoni schools improve on pass rate

The majority of Benoni schools registered higher matric pass rates in the 2013 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations than in the previous year.

Gekombineerde Skool Noorderlig, Wordsworth High School, Petit High School, Benoni Muslim School, Willowmoore High School, Hoërskool Brandwag and Unity Secondary School were among some of the schools who bettered their pass rate.

The star schools were Benoni High School, Wordsworth High School and the Benoni Muslim School, who all obtained a 100 per cent pass rate.

The breakdown of each school’s pass rate:

Benoni High School

2013 pass rate: 100 per cent

2012 pass rate: 100 per cent

Wordsworth High School

2013 pass rate: 100 per cent

2012 pass rate: 99 per cent

Benoni Muslim School

2013 pass rate: 100 per cent

2012 pass rate: 98 per cent

Hoërskool Brandwag

2013 pass rate: 98, 4 per cent

2012 pass rate: 98 per cent

Hoërskool Hans Moore

2013 pass rate: 97 per cent

2012 pass rate: 96, 7 per cent

Willowmoore High School

2013 pass rate: 98, 3 per cent

2012 pass rate: 98 per cent

Gekombineerde Skool Noorderlig

2013 pass rate: 95 per cent

2012 pass rate: 90 per cent

Petit High School

2013 pass rate: 86, 9 per cent

2012 pass rate: 81, 4 per cent

Unity Secondary School

2013 pass rate: 98 per cent

Liverpool Secondary School

2013 pass rate: 94 per cent

2012 pass rate: 97 per cent

Belvedere School

2013: 97 per cent
