NG Kerk Rynfield celebrates 70 years

Seven decades of faith, fellowship and service were celebrated as NG Kerk Rynfield brought the community together for its 70th anniversary.

Reverend Carla van Tonder was overcome with joy at the support the NG Kerk Rynfield enjoyed during its 70th anniversary “fees” on October 31.

“It is truly a blessing to see residents come together for the church. We are grateful to serve people in the way that we do and to be part of the community.

“As we mark seven decades of serving as a place of worship, we also acknowledge the role of faithful congregants.

“Their support enabled us to fix our roof this year, so we thank the community and the Lord.”

With the celebrations featuring food stalls, local vendors and musical performances, the church said it was proud to have also created an opportunity for local businesses as part of the festivities.

Laerskool Rynfield’s junior and senior choirs performed at the event.

“Funds raised at the celebration will assist the further growth and development of the church,” said Van Tonder.
