
- Always park vehicles in a locked garage. If there is no garage, ensure that the vehicle is parked close to the bedroom, or at the back of the house, (out of sight).
- Never leave vehicles on the pavement.
- Ensure that all motorcycles are parked out of sight, and in locked facilities. If possible do not park motorcycles under a carport that is visible from the road.
- Always remove your valuables from the vehicle, such as GPS devices, cellphones, laptops and wallets.
- In most cases, dogs are being poisoned, and after a few days, the criminals are coming back to steal motorcycles and vehicles.
- The public must report all dog poisoning cases that occur, in order for the SAPS to do extra patrols in that area. A register is kept in the client service centre of the dog poisoning cases.
- The public can also contact their local CPF chairpersons to report dog poisoning cases. They will then make contact with the SAPS:
