Special voters must apply

Clr Mary Goby would like to remind voters who are unable to travel to voting stations, on May 7, that they can apply as special voters and receive special ballot papers.

The IEC is making special provision for people who cannot travel to a voting station to vote on election day, due to the following reasons: blind and partially-sighted people, low-vision users, people who are dyslexic, the elderly, people with low literacy and people with motor and nervous conditions which do not allow for a steady hand.

The IEC will provide people with ballot papers at the physical address provided on the special vote application form.

The special vote application forms are available at all IEC offices, or at gerom@gauteng.da.org.za.

Goby said the completed application forms may be returned to IEC offices or your local councillor.

She encouraged people in ward 28 to contact her on 082 679 7109, should they have any questions regarding the forms.
