Five injured in accident
Five people were injured in an accident on Main Reef Road, on Monday evening (March 24).
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene shortly after 7pm and found a bakkie lying on its roof, with five people spread across the road.
“Paramedics immediately assessed all the persons involved and were ushered to a male, in his 30s, lying in a ditch at the roadside, in an unresponsive state,” said ER24 JHB East spokesperson Glen Orritt.
”He was assessed by paramedics and found to have suffered multiple injuries and was in a critical condition.”
The man was placed on a manual ventilator and transported to the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, in a critical condition.
The remaining four victims were stabilised on scene and transported to nearby hospitals, for further care by ER24 and other emergency services.
Orritt thanked the Benoni CPF, Life The Glynnwood Hospital paramedics and the EMPD for their assistance.
