Crystal Park SAPS media liaison officer Tryna Maritz said police have found fingerprints and are still investigating the incident at the Spar, in Totius Road.
The crime was reported on Monday, April 7, after the Spar manager opened the shop and discovered a broken door near the offices.
The manager then saw that the safe had been broken into and that money had been stolen.
The burglars entered the Spar by first breaking into a real estate shop, then entered a hardware shop next door, after which they entered the Spar through the roof.
”The burglars then forced open the security door and gained entry into the office where the safes were,” said Maritz.
”A grinder was used to cut open the safe and an undisclosed amount of money was stolen.”
Maritz said it appeared that the alarm was tampered with.
A case of business burglary has been opened.
No arrests have been made.
