Bake your best for our Cake Bake competition
The time is here again for amateur and professional bakers in Benoni to challenge each other with their best sweet (and savoury) masterpieces in the annual Benoni City Times Mother's Day Tea Cake Bake competition on May 8, at the Northmead Square.
In this year’s competition, there are four main categories in which bakers can compete:
- Professional
- Bakers for Fun
- Tarts (sweet and savoury)
- Cupcakes
This year’s judges, who will rate the cakes and tarts according to taste, texture, moisture and aesthetic appeal, are: Moira Wall, Berry Legg, Xanthe Weissnar, Jill Dial, Kerry-Lee Payne, Tracey van Gessel, Paul Vieira, Stelios Coutsides, Christiaan Welthagen, Jan Jordaan, Mandy Stephenson and Peter Bachtis.
A number of prizes will be up for grabs in each category.
