Carly and Kyle Burnett are ecstatic after their 10-month-old pot-bellied pig, Penni, which was reported missing on Monday, April 21, was safely returned to them.

The small piggy, that Carly assumed had escaped their property on Wilge Road, Farrarmere, was found by a fellow Benonian on Milton Street the same day she went missing.

The Burnetts said she read they were in search of their missing pet on Wednesday morning in an article published on the Benoni City Times website and contacted them to arrange her return.

Carly said they are very relieved to have Penni back safely, considering that something bad could have happened to her.

“I cannot even express how blessed and lucky we are to have a second chance with Penni,” she said.

She thanked the woman and her family who found and safely returned Penni to them.

A cash reward of R1 500 was given to her.
