A classic motor treat for dads
Mall-goers had the opportunity to enjoy an exciting viewing of classic cars, at the Lakeside Mall, over the Father’s Day weekend.
The cars could be viewed mainly in the Town Square section, at entrance five.
The display was arranged by Dirk van den Heever, of the Ford Cortina Club South Africa, in partnership with Leoni Wentzel, from LW photography, as an awareness campaign.
Ford enthusiasts brought along their models for the public to feast their eyes on.
Also exhibiting at the event again, this year, was Benoni’s own “Henry Ford”, Clifton Fredericks, from Mackenzie Park.
The City Times reported on Fredericks last year. He has had a passion for fast, modified cars since the mid-’80s and regularly attends car shows with his vintage works of art.
This is a hobby he enjoys with his sons, Duncan and Dillon.
The vehicles on display included a 1983 Ford Cortina, a 1970 Ford Escort Mk1, a 1981 Ford Escort, 1962 Ford Anglia, BMW 325 IS and a 1985 Ford Mustang.
