Let’s save nature

Miss Earth national semi-finalist Steffani Alexander (22) planted trees at Oliver’s Village, in Putfontein, on June 10.

Alexander and community members, including school learners, planted 20 trees, including pear trees, navel orange trees, almond nut trees and plum trees, all sponsored by LG Electronics.

Oliver’s Village provides a place for the community to learn basic skills to enable them to grow their own food.

The 20 fruit trees planted will act as a food source, as well as increasing the biodiversity of this fast growing village.

“It was a rewarding experience, planting fruit trees with the community members and school learners,” said Alexander.
