iThemba warns women of rapists’ modus operandi
iThemba Rape and Trauma Centre is warning all women, especially in Daveyton and Etwatwa, of a modus operandi used by would-be rapists to gain access to properties.

iThemba public relations officer Rose Maja said that, upon questioning a number of rape victims from Daveyton and Etwatwa, they found that in most cases the rapists used the same modus operandi.
“Would-be rapists gain access in premises and houses by lying that they have come to fix electricity or water pipes,” said Maja.
As soon as access is granted they then rape their victims, either at knife or gunpoint.
Maja pleaded with residents to check with property owners if they are expecting any servicemen before granting access to strangers.
She said the number of rapes in Daveyton and Etwatwa, reported to iThemba, is increasingly high.
