Rotary hosts international youth exchange students

The Rotary Club of Benoni Aurora is hosting two long term exchange students, Christian Ortner, from Austria, and Juliette Schroeder, from America.

Ortner is attending Hoërskool Brandwag and Schroeder Ashton International College.

The Youtth Exchange Programme is one of the youth programmes that is run by the Rotary Club of Benoni Aurora.

At the beginning of each year students are selected to participate in either the long term or short term programmes.

The one-year academic programme allows students to experience the cultural diversity of another country, while attending school.

The six to eight-week family-to-family exchange allows students to experience the lifestyle of other students around the world.

The club also has a number of short term students visiting at the moment: Philomene Oheix from France, Patricia Lambertz from Germany and Andre Westenbroek from the Netherlands.

They are being hosted by students who attend Benoni High School, Hoërskool Hans Moore and Willowmoore High School respectively.

The local students will visit those countries in December.

The club will also be fortunate enough to welcome two students from South America in December 2014.
