Kasi dance hits Daveyton
Introducing ISpantsula and local modern dance ISbujwa to Daveyton.
Siphelele C Maduna and Nkosingiphile Maphumulo are former members of the 100 Per Cent Dance Group, who earned their reputation by winning most competitions in and around KwaZulu-Natal.
The members have introduced the group’s kind of lifestyle to the youth of Benoni, Daveyton and surrounding areas.
100 Per Cent Entertainment will be hosting a dance competition and battle at Victor Ndlazulwane Hall, Daveyton, on August 16.
The event is about Kasi Dance, which focuses mainly on ISpantsula and the local modern dance, iSbujwa.
Some community members see it as just a waste of time, but this event will bring a positive lifestyle to youngsters and a change to the community.
“Due to our social research, we came to understand that constructive activities such as we are presenting will bring change and positive direction to the youth, as we are experienced in this industry,” said Nkosingiphile Maphumulo.
The event will run from 10am to 6.30pm.
The prize is valued at R5 000.There is a registration fee of R500 and an entrance fee of R20.
“We plan to take this art form to different stages and platforms, so we can champion the youngsters best interests in the dance field, so that they can be rewarded for what they love doing,” said Maphumulo.
