The victim, who wants to remain anonymous, was discharged from the Tambo Memorial Hospital after being stabbed in the neck and wrist.
In the early hours of Monday morning, August 11, the victim heard a noise in his garden at his Sixth Avenue home.
He looked out of a window and saw someone standing in his boat, with his back towards him.
He went outside and wrestled the assailant to the ground.
As the tussle ensued, a second perpetrator stabbed him in the neck and wrist, before both individuals fled over the property’s boundary wall.
The victim said he sustained a 2cm gash in his neck and a 6-7cm cut in his left wrist.
The victim still has to open a case at the Benoni Police Station, as his friends were allegedly refused the right to do so on his behalf, when he was taken to hospital.
Benoni SAPS communications officer Lieut Nomsa Sekele said a criminal case may be opened on someone’s behalf.
