Theft of road name signs in Rynfield

Youngsters breaking off road name signs leading into the complex.

Five youngsters were seen breaking off the road name signs leading into the Rynglen Gardens complex, in Uys Street.

A vehicle (a VW Polo) was parked in the entrance to the complex, but facing in the direction of St Dunstan’s College.

“At no point did the youngsters try to make a secret of what they were doing, due to the amount of noise that they were making,” said Mike Glass, a resident at Rynglen Gardens.

“The signs have been reported to the Roads and Civil Works Department, which will rectify the situation,” said EMPD spokesperson Wilfred Kgasago.

As to when and who stole them, the EMPD and SAPS have no record, however, the EMPD are still investigating the matter.
