Emaromeni Primary School, in Actonville, is one of the schools which participated in the “Lifebuoy’s School of Five and Wrapper Campaign” and walked away with a great prize.
The project was launched in schools last month and saw a dramatic increase in good health practices among primary school children resulting in healthier learners.
Learners were encouraged to adopt a new hand washing habit within 21 days.
The campaign focused on children aged between six and 12 years old, in Grades R to Four.
Florence Kganye, principal of Emaromeni Primary School, added that the campaign has inspired learners to wash their hands and that they are happy to do so before meals and after using the bathroom.
She says this is an excellent campaign to motivate the learners.
Prizes could be chosen from a selection of four options: a computer and printer, a printer, three whiteboards or a generator to the value of R10 000.
The school chose the generator, which will be useful when the need arises.
