Want quality food? Visit Keg and Knight
Keg and Knight, at the Rynfield Terrace, is not in the business of cutting corners when it comes to food quality.

They also understand that people are scared nowadays when it comes to food, especially with all the rumours that sometimes surround the meat industry, hence they always pay the price to get the finest quality from reputable and trusted suppliers.
Food at the restaurant has been improving since their opening some 13 years ago, and owner Paul Tsimogiannis has attributed this to the continued training of staff members.
Their scrumptious Mexican Chicken Schnitzel made my day on Thursday, August 14, during my visit to the restaurant and pub.
I went there with my colleague Kgomotso, and I must say that we were both feeling hungry as lions. After finishing my meal, I concluded that it’s no coincidence that chicken schnitzel — pounded chicken breasts that are breaded and fried — is such a popular dish around the world.
It was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender, with a golden, crunchy exterior that is almost impossible to resist.
The cheese and salsa toppings made it even more irresistible. Good recipes are found all over the world and in cook books, but at the end of the day, it all comes down to the cook to make it distinctive, and that’s why I have to give it to Keg and Knight on this one.
They way they prepare this particular dish is exceptional and proves that they know exactly what they do with food.
OK, before I lose you, my dish consisted of crumbed and golden fried chicken breast topped with Mexican salsa, cheddar and jalapeño slices, served with a garden salad.
The salad was so fresh I thought that they had a garden at the back.
I had to believe Paul when he said they don’t carry over stock from the previous day.
I recommend this dish to anyone, any time and I promise no disappointment. Kgomotso settled for their delicious Chicken and Prawn Curry.
It consisted of marinated chicken and prawns in Asian spices and was served in a piquant sauce, with rice, sambals and poppadam.
First and foremost Kgomotso was impressed with the presentation.
The chicken, she said, was soft and tender and the prawns came in reasonable sizes.
There is a kiddies play area at the restaurant’, which is so spacious that it can also accommodate large families.
Kiddies pizzas are also available and they can also get themselves some lucky packets. For sports fanatics, there are several big screens to cater for the sports of their choice.
There are breakfast specials on weekends.
The place is open Monday to Friday, from 9am to 10.30pm, and on weekends from 10am to 10.30pm. It caters for smokers and non-smokers.
