Miss India Worldwide visits Lakeview Hospital
Monica Gill, Miss India Worldwide, paid a visit to the Lakeview Hospital on Friday, August 29.
She was welcomed by staff members of the neonatal ICU ward and was introduced to babies who were born on Thursday, August 28.
Lucky parents Julie and Henry van Wyk were all smiles and pleased to meet Gill and introduce her to their son, Charles van Wyk, who was born on Thursday, at 2.05am.
Gill also met Lorraine Seleme, who gave birth to her baby girl, Bohlale Seleme, at 8am on Thursday.
Gill, who is from the States and is 25 years old, was crowned in June 2014.
She said her role as Miss India Worldwide has bought her a number of important highlights.
“The biggest highlight has been meeting people with gratitude and, of course, the love from people I have never met,” said Gill.
The visit follows the grand opening of the hospital’s new maternity unit on August 16, attended by Minister of Women in the Presidency Susan Shabangu.
