Stolen vehicle quickly recovered by EMPD

EMPD officers responded swiftly to recover a stolen Toyota Tazz, on Monday, September 23.

The unit members were patrolling in Wadeville, at 8am, and received a lookout for a car which had been reported stolen, at the Actonville Police Station.

“Reading the signal that the stolen vehicle was heading towards Vosloorus, the Metro Police sped to the area, where they found the stolen vehicle abandoned in MC Botha Road,” said Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson.

The vehicle was recovered at 8.30am.

“On arrival, the police were informed by members of the public that the culprits had just dumped the vehicle and had run into the nearby hostel,” said Kgasago.

The vehicle was taken to the SAPS’s Van Ryn Deep Pound.
