UPDATE: Neighbour traumatised by Northmead murder

The neighbours of the woman who was found dead at a Northmead home this morning (November 6), are traumatised by the shocking discovery of the woman's body.

A neighbour, who did not want to be named, said his partner phoned him this morning while he was on his way to work to notify him of the body on the grass.

He rushed home and found the lifeless body of a woman against a wall near the washing line, face down.

The neighbour immediately alerted emergency services.

The victim is believed to be 29 years old.

Police suspect she may have been killed by a woman who is alleged to be her lesbian partner.

The neighbour lives in a separate house on the same property as the victim.

Another woman is believed to occupy a room on the property.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Lieut Nomsa Sekele said the victim’s kitchen was full of blood and there was blood visible on the lawn and against the wall where the body lay.

A case of murder has been opened.

Police are still searching for the victim’s partner.
