Luxurious treatments at Beautywithin
Imagine lying back with your eyes closed, while your shoulders are massaged with oils and scented candles and exotic music tickle your senses.
Imagine not having a worry in the world and escaping to the life of a goddess, with relaxation that feels never-ending.
This fantasy could be your reality at Beautywithin, where the City Times recently got a feel of what this beauty salon has in store.
I received a pedicure, a facial and a back massage.
Despite a cosy, homely environment, that can be felt at the salon, the beauty therapists, Bronwen Oates and Koketso “Kay” Tshelane, delivered professional, spa-appropriate etiquette.
Kay performed a Medi-heal pedicure on me, using Elim products.
This pedicure is particularly formulated to restore softness to skin underneath feet.
During the treatment a tonic is applied and left on for 10 minutes.
This allows the therapist to easily scrape off dead skin, instantly resulting in softer skin.
With this you are treated to a foot massage, a soak and a polish.
I decided on a French polish as I always admire the elegant and clean look of it.
Kay said this treatment is especially popular among the elderly and people who like wearing sandals.
She advised for clients who struggle with hard heals to come for the treatment every three weeks.
If you merely want to maintain your feet it would be good to come every four weeks.
While Kay was performing my pedicure Bronwen gave me a Luxury Facial using a skin care range from Environ — and may I emphasise, luxury indeed…
This facial includes a full cleanse, exfoliation with steaming, a facial massage and masking, which is particularly implemented according to the client’s skin type.
It also includes moisturising, facial waxing if the client prefers it and a hand massage.
This felt incredible and had me relaxing double the amount that I anticipated.
The product was developed by South African doctors and was formulated for local skin types.
Bronwen said despite skin condition enhancement being its result, many people come for this treatment purely for the relaxation it provides.
She said relaxation is a more important part of life than people make it.
My day’s treatments ended with a Swedish back massage.
This last, but certainly not least, offering consisted of a 45-minute session of intense relaxation.
The therapist first establishes whether you have any special areas which need attention, for instance sore or stiff shoulders or lower back.
She will then focus on these points, along with providing relaxation.
Luckily I had no ailments and Kay focused purely on relaxation.
I was in such a magnificent state of relaxation that I decided one has not lived if you haven’t experienced this yet.
I appreciated that I could ask the therapists any further questions and for advice on the enhancement and maintenance of beauty treatments.
I also thoroughly enjoyed their company.
I left the salon with my skin feeling exceptionally soft and fresh.
I could not believe my feet could feel as soft, and my toenails looked stunning.
All in all I felt rejuvenated, relaxed and precious, which is the mission of this salon; to enhance the beauty within.
