“The low water pressure is due to the newly installed water pipes by Rand Water which meant water was unable to be supplied in its normal volume,” said Ekurhuleni media relations divisional head Mandlakazi Sigcawu.
“The replacement of the old water pipes was done to prevent any health threats that could have been caused.”
The municipality said late yesterday (November 19) afternoon that technicians were working around the clock to restore the interruption.
Sigcawu said roving water tankers were provided for domestic use at the Life the Glynnwood Hospital, and at other points in Western Extension and Actonville.
The municipality apologised for any inconvenience caused.
