”National electricity supplier Eskom, is currently in stage one of shedding and has requested the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) to reduce the load on its electricity network,” said the municipality on its Facebook page.
”Since 1pm today, the EMM has been undertaking this load reduction exercise by following the load shedding schedules available on the municipality’s website.”
Residents have been warned to treat all electrical points as being live at all times.
The municipality apologised for any inconvenience.
