Peggy turns 90 years old
Peggy McLeod was treated to a fun-filled birthday party when she turned 90, on Friday, November 14.
The party was hosted by her daughters and granddaughters at the Old Peoples Home, on Howard Avenue.
The Benoni High School Pipe Band and Choral Ensemble entertained residents with music.
Peggy was born in Johannesburg, on November 15, 1924, and has lived in Benoni for over 60 years.
She is a life member of the Benoni Country Club and has been a vice-president of the South African Women’s Bowling Association.
She has also represented the club at district level on many occasions.
The former Lakefield resident has also served the Scottish fraternity, who are descendants of Scottish immigrants who try to preserve their heritage and tradition.
She was married to Tommy McLeod, who passed away in 2008, at the age of 87.
Peggy has two children, Hilary Webber and Greg McLeod.
She has also been blessed with granddaughters Heather-Anne Bender and Fiona Watermeyer, great-grandchildren Dylan Jones, Erin Smith, Caelin Watermeyer and Jordain Watermeyer, and great-great-grandson Mason Jones.
