Back to school traffic an ‘absolute nightmare’
Western Extension residents affected by this morning's back to school traffic had the urge to let down cars' tyres that were obstructing traffic, according to Clr Mary Goby.
Goby, whose ward includes Western Extension, said irate residents complained to her this morning about the traffic around Benoni West School and Benoni Junior School.
“Parents made the suburb and absolute nightmare today – it is not fair,” said Goby.
“We can’t get out of the driveways because cars are parked across the road.”
She said some cars were parked 1.5m from the kerb, in the road.
She asked parents to play the game.
When asked where the parents should have parked, Goby said people could have parked further away from the school and walked a bit further.
“Rather walk further than inconvenience others,” said Goby.
