Enriching a small garden with impatiens
Eighty-nine-year-old Rynfield resident Edna MacEwan has a beautiful display of impatiens flowers at her home.
She has been growing the arrangement in the garden of her daughter Patricia Eastman’s home, with whom she lives.
“I just think it is wonderful what you can do in a small garden,” said MacEwan.
She planted the flowers in September for the garden to look nice during December and said she received stunning results since.
She is attempting to create the affect of a waterfall on one side of the display.
MacEwan said they are easy to maintain, and just need to be watered regularly, which is easy for her as her daughter has an irrigation system.
MacEwan, who has a passion for her plants, won a cup in a gardening competition, for her garden in Alphen Park, during her younger years.
