
Benoni SAPS spokesperson Lieut Nomsa Sekele said three armed men gained entry to a property on Sarel Cilliers Street, in the early afternoon, by lifting up the gate.
“A man, employed to paint the fence of the property, was present and they pointed a firearm at him and entered the house,” said Sekele.
According to the police report, the residents were home when the incident happened.
It is unclear how many occupants were in the house.
Two televisions, a laptop and perfumes were stolen.
The robbers also found the keys for a Toyota motor vehicle and used it to make a getaway.
This was after they threw the keys of another car into the swimming pool.
CMS and SAPS were called to the scene.
Police are investigating the incident.
