Prepare for bumper Easter Sports Festival
The great success of the 2014 St Dunstan’s College Easter Rugby Festival has led to the expansion of the 2015 Easter Sports Festival to include netball and hockey.
On Thursday, April 2, Saturday, April 4 and Monday, April 6, 620 athletes will be welcomed to the school in their respective sports.
Eight netball teams and 13 boys’ and girls’ hockey teams will compete in 2015, with matches being played simultaneously on the Thursday, Saturday and Monday.
There is a lot of anticipation among the hockey fraternity as matches will be played on the newly commissioned St Dunstan’s College water-based AstroTurf.
The number of Zimbabwean schools participating will increase from one in 2014 to four schools this year.
Learners from Unity and Petit high schools will be accorded the opportunity to compete equally and interact with team players from schools they would normally not play against.
While, as part of the ongoing developments, this year will also see the inclusion of primary school rugby and netball teams participating on the Thursday and Saturday.
