Truck slams into car, killing man
A man died in a collision this morning (March 24), after apparently being T-boned by an 18-wheeler truck.
The accident occurred on the corner of Tom Jones Street and Range View Road, at around 8am.
It is believed the driver of the light motor vehicle turned off Tom Jones Street, onto Range View Road, heading towards Carnival City when the collision occurred.
“We arrived on scene and found a BMW had been T-boned by a truck,” said ER24 JHB East spokesperson Glen Orritt.
“The driver, and only occupant of the BMW, a man aged 28, was in a serious condition.”
Paramedics worked on the victim for about 40 minutes before he died.
Orritt said paramedics had to administer care to the victim inside the wrecked car as he could not be extricated.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Authorities were on scene to investigate the accident.
