According to EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the VW Polo Hatchback, was a joint effort between members from the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Equestrian Unit, SAPS members and officers from a vehicle tracking company.
“Drug paraphernalia, commonly used for the substance crystal meth, was found on the men,” said Kgasago.
“A charge of possession of a stolen vehicle was registered at Benoni police station and the two are expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.
“Another charge of theft of a motor vehicle awaits the pair at Reiger Park police station,” added Kgasago.
The two men who were arrested do not have any connection with the home where the stolen vehicle was recovered.
