Spreading gifts

Fruitful-Hands Scrapping donated around 300 beanies and scarves and 250 handbags to benefit people in and around Benoni, last weekend.

The Northmead-based scrap-booking retailer made the donation at the Benoni Country Club, on June 27.

Springs Park Rotary Anns Club representatives Marion Mitchell and Pat Kemp collected the handbags on behalf of Rotary.

The bags will be packed with goodies such as sanitary towels, soap and underwear, to name a few, and will be donated to rape victims.

The beanies and scarves were collected by Pastor Mark Penrith of the Crystal Park Baptist Church and Pastor Chris Mnguni of the Grace Baptist Church, in Zenzele.

Owner of Fruitful-Hands Scrapping, Donalee Scott, said her friends, family and clients of the business were asked to donate the handbags and beanies.

“This will really help those who don’t have the privilege of being warm during the winter,” she added.
