Lions roar ahead
The Benoni Lakes Lions Club presidential induction ceremony was held on July 4.
Lions, invited Rotarians, friends and family descended on the Aviator Hotel, in Kempton Park, for the occasion.
The club inducted their new president for the 2015/2016 year, Nick Maré, who is also a former district governor.
They also inducted nine new members, who were warmly welcomed, as the club was facing closure because it had only one member (who is based in the UK), in February.
The newly-elected president told guests he hopes to grow membership to 25 people by September, from the current membership of 18 people.
The club’s five-year goal is to open a sight and hearing clinic.
