Benoni has not yet experienced a heatwave this month
Benoni will need to experience at least two more days of weather exceeding 30ºC before we can classify the present temperatures as a heatwave.
Rynfield resident Clive Webber, who is a climatologist and has a weather station at his home, said six to seven days of weather above 30ºC is needed before you can classify it as a heatwave.
October has thus far seen four days exceeding that temperature.
Webber said four days in the whole month of October last year experienced temperatures in excess of that threshold.
Webber told the City Times the chance of rain is not likely in the next few days as humidity is still very low.
