Tambo Narrative Centre opens its doors

It was a nostalgic yet humbling evening when the OR Tambo Narrative Centre was officially launched on Thursday, October 22.

The historical exhibition is located at the O R Tambo Cultural Precinct, in Wattville.

Jeff Radebe, Minister in the Presidency, officiated at the opening of the centre.

Radebe, Ekurhuleni mayor Mondli Gungubele, Dali Tambo and his wife, Rachel, were taken on a tour of the historic narrative centre.

The exhibition tells the story of Oliver and Adelaide Tambo.

Visitors to the centre will be treated to a timeline of photos and videos of Tambo’s political career in South Africa.

They will also see stories of his continued leadership against the anti-apartheid movement overseas and his journey back home after 30 years in exile.
