UPDATE: Community patroller arrested for stabbing
Police have confirmed that the man who was arrested in connection with the stabbing of a Kingsway couple is a community patroller from the office of the MEC of community safety, Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane.

Col Martin van Nieuwenhuizen told the City Times this afternoon (October 30) that the Benoni cluster priority task team nabbed the man in Lindelani this morning.
A woman (40) and her 37-year-old partner were in their Kingsway shack when four men entered the dwelling, on Wednesday evening, October 28.
The man died in the Far East Rand Hospital on October 29, while the female victim was discharged from the same hospital on the same day.
The child was not harmed in the ordeal.
Khehle Khambule, who is a coordinator for the Germiston and Benoni cluster within the MEC of community safety’s office, confirmed one of the department’s patrollers was arrested.
“We don’t condone any act of criminality,” said Khambule.
He said the matter will be investigated.
Van Nieuwenhuizen is adamant police will apprehend the three remaining suspects shortly.
“I am positive we’ll have the three remaining suspects before the end of the weekend,” he said.
The 35-year-old suspect is currently being detained at the Benoni Police Station under a charge of murder and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
