Head-on collision injures three
Three people were injured this afternoon (October 30), after a head-on collision between a truck and microbus on Geldenhuys Road.
Two of the victims were seriously injured.
“ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found the truck lying on its side, on the side of the road,” said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.
“The wrecked microbus lay in the middle of the road.”
Paramedics found a male occupant of the microbus and the truck driver walking around.
The female patient in the microbus was trapped inside the vehicle.
“Rescue services had to use the Jaws of Life equipment to free the patient,” said Meiring.
“Once freed, paramedics provided the two seriously injured patients with advanced life support interventions.”
All three patients were transported to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
