Carnival City plays host to much anticipated Pride Weekend again this year.

The Pride Weekend takes place on March 11 and 12 and is a combination of stand-up comedy and live music performances compiled by South African artists.

“The first day of the Pride Weekend features a music concert, characterised by infectious Afro-soul and house tunes,” said Carnival City’s marketing manager, Michelle Smith.

“The second day of the event is dedicated to comedy, with top comedians.”

Artists who will be performing at the event include: The Soil, Mafikizolo, Black Motion and K2, hosted by Big Brother finalist Blue Mbombo and comedian Tumi Stopnonsons.

Theo Kgosinkwe, who is a member of Mafikizolo, said that they are excited to be a part of this event.

“We are excited to perform and share our happiness with the people,” he said.

“There is no place like home and South Africa will always be our home.”

Kgosinkwe advised people to attend the show because supporting local talent is important.

“This is an enjoyable outing for couples and families,” he said.

“People should support the local music and learn about South Africa’s culture,” he said.

Performing top comedians are: Joey Rasdien, Trevor Gumbi, Salesman, Pule, Thapelo Tips, Dillan Oliphant, Mdu Ntuli, Tumi Stopnonsons, hosted by the hilarious TallAssMo.

Tickets are on sale at Computicket.
