Recycle your e-waste
The Benoni van Rhyn Lions Club will again be running its much-anticipated Recycle for Sight initiative.

You have from April 9 to May 2 to drop off all your unwanted e-waste at Lakeside Mall to support this initiative.
The Lions Operation Brightsight has been in operation since 1978 and provides corrective spectacles to visually impaired member’s of the public who cannot afford spectacles.
Benoni van Rhyn Lions Club member, Beaulieu Maré said this project is one of the Lions Club International service challenges for “protecting the environment” during the month of April.
People may drop off their electronic waste (computers, printers, cables, kettles, microwaves and so on) at the Desco Electronic Recyclers container, at the mall’s Entrance 5.
The centre will be open Monday to Saturday from 7am until 4pm and on Sunday from 7am to 1pm.
Desco Electronic Recyclers provides a high-quality service for the disposal of electronic waste and ensures that the service is conducted in an environmentally friendly manner.
All processes involved during the disposal conform to and comply with all relevant specifications as enforced by the recognised authorities, both local and international.
The funds raised will be used for sight-related projects in the community.
People may also drop off old spectacles and frames, which will go to people in need of those items.
