Three men arrested in Petit, for being in possession of unlicensed firearm

Three men were arrested for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm on Zesfontein Road, on August 16.

The incident occurred at the corner of Zesfontein and Birch roads at 11.10pm.

Crystal Park SAPS’s acting communication officer, Tryna Maritz, said police were patrolling in the area when they saw a suspicious-looking vehicle.

“Police stopped the vehicle and searched it and it’s three occupants,” said Maritz.

Police confiscated a Glock firearm and two knives.

Maritz added that, according to the members, the men could not give a valid reason as to why they were in possession of the firearm and knives.

A case of being in possession of an unlicensed firearm was opened at the Crystal Park Police Station.
