The Ekurhuleni Central Cluster Task Team apprehended the man in Etwatwa on Friday (September 23), according to Capt Nomsa Sekele, Ekurhuleni Central Cluster spokesperson.

“He appeared in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court on Monday (September 26), but was remanded,” she added.
He was arrested for murder and the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Theron died on August 5, after he was shot at his business, Ren-Tech Auto Panelbeaters, in Lake Avenue, Benoni CBD.
He was a resident of Brakpan.
Eddie Theron, Renier’s brother, said: “Justice must take its course.”
Freddie Laubsher, Renier’s father-in-law, was grateful for the Ekurhuleni Central Cluster Task Team’s efforts.
“On behalf of the family, I want to thank the special unit for always being available and putting so much time into the investigation,” he said.
“At this stage, we can’t say much regarding the arrest.”
He reiterated Eddie’s statement.
Renier’s wife, Janine, did not want to comment.
Sekele said the suspect would appear in the Benoni Regional Court on October 14.
