House robbers assault woman

A woman was tied up and assaulted during a house robbery in Farrarmere on Tuesday morning (November 15).

According to Const Zunickha Essakjee, Benoni SAPS spokesperson, the woman, who is a domestic worker in the house, said three men entered the yard claiming to measure the perimeter for an electric fence.

“One of the men was armed with a knife and they drove off in a silver Toyota bakkie after the robbery,” Essakjee said.

“The three men tied the woman up and assaulted her.”

The suspects allegedly stole the television set, perfume, a Play Station, cellphone, tablet and radio.

“All three escaped and no arrests have been made as yet,” Essakjee said on Tuesday afternoon.

A case of house robbery was opened at the Benoni Police Station.
